• Dr. Anil Bhan is a distinguished Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon with 43+ years of experience in advanced cardiac and vascular surgery.
• He is widely recognized for his expertise in aortic valve surgery and is considered one of the most experienced aortic surgeons in India.
• He has successfully performed 15,000+ cardiac and vascular surgeries, including heart transplants, pediatric cardiac surgeries, valve repairs and aortic aneurysm surgeries.
• His expertise also includes peripheral vascular surgery and complex cardiovascular procedures.
• He has developed more than 50 innovative surgical instruments for cardiac procedures, contributing significantly to advancements in cardiac surgery.
• In 2007, he gained recognition for performing heart bypass surgery on one of the youngest patients in India, an 18-month-old child.
• He introduced India’s first Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) procedure in 2000.
• He also pioneered the use of a harmonic scalpel for harvesting radial mammary artery conduits in India in 1995.
