Dr. D. S. Rana obtained his MBBS degree from Himachal Pradesh University in 1972 and pursued his MD in Medicine at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in 1976.
He further enhanced his expertise by earning the MNAMS in Nephrology from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) in 1980.
He is recognized as an international scholar of the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, which highlights his commitment to advancing his expertise in nephrology.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Rana is a member of the Board of Management at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where he contributes to the strategic direction and governance of the institution.

His significant contributions to the field of medicine were recognized when the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri in 2009, the country’s fourth highest civilian honor, for his exemplary work in the field of nephrology.
