What is the Indian Medical Visa?

The Indian e-Medical Visa is a legal travel document meant for international nationals seeking short-term medical treatment or taking part in medical tourism in India. It allows access into the country for medical reasons that necessitate treatment at allowed hospitals. This e-visa allows for up to three trips and is specifically designed for short-term medical needs. It also allows close blood relations to accompany the visa holder as medical attendants. The e-Medical Visa simplifies the process for persons traveling to India only for medical treatment, providing accessibility and ease for those suffering from serious medical conditions.

How does E-Medical Visa Works?

The procedure for acquiring an Indian e-Medical Visa is simple. Individuals who are eligible for medical care can apply online by giving personal information, and passport information, and answering a security test. The charge for the e-Medical Visa is paid online using a debit or credit card. The e-Visa for medical purposes is given to the applicant’s email address once authorized.

Some important points to remember before applying:

  • The e-Medical Visa is valid for 60 days after arrival and allows for three entries into India.
  • Each applicant must have a passport, which must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival.
  • During the stay, you must be able to survive financially.
  • Applicants must have a copy of their approved e-Visa permission with them at all times during their stay.
  • When applying, you must have a return or onward ticket.
  • Children are not permitted to be included in their parents’ online visa application.
  • Holders of an International Travel Document or a Diplomatic Passport are ineligible for the e-tourist visa.
  • A visa invitation letter from an Indian hospital and hospital details are also needed as proof.
